Psalm 103 - "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)"

I woke up with the words to "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)" going through my mind. Matt Redman's song is about praising God for all He does for us. Psalm 103 gives us many reasons to praise Him. The first verse in The Passion Translation is how I strive to live every day. I know I fall short at times but am thankful for the reminders of Psalm 103 of His love for me even in such times. With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Verses three through five in the Message read:

 He forgives your sins—every one.
 He heals your diseases—every one.
He redeems you from hell—saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.
He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence.

David continues to write about God's love, mercy, and grace that He pours down over all. Verse twelve in the Voice reads: You see, God takes all our crimes—our seemingly inexhaustible sins—and removes them. As far as east is from the west, He removes them from us. God forgives and forgets. We need to do the same after we repent of our sins. We need to walk in the freedom He gives us instead of wallowing in the 'junk' the enemy tries to continually put upon us. Verse seventeen of the Voice is reason enough for me to live as He desires. It reads, But the unfailing love of the Eternal is always and eternal for those who reverently run after Him. He extends His justice on and on to future generations. ...future generations. That means my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so on. I want to live my life in a way others will desire to live with Him for eternity. I pray every day for my boys, their wives' and my grand babies to live for the Lord. I pray for them to be in His Word seeking more of Him. This morning I am singing...

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Bless the Lord, Oh my soul
Oh my soul, worship his holy name
Sing like never before, Oh my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
