Hebrews 13:20-21 - "In The House"

Before falling asleep I prayed for pastors and churches. I prayed for my church to have a blessed service and for 'all to run smoothly in my absence.' I didn't wake in the night as I usually do on Saturdays but prayed again this morning for all pastors to allow the Holy Spirit to have freedom not only in the services they are involved in today but especially in their own life. God woke me with Crowder's song "In The House" and I thought about how so many times when someone says the word 'church' they think of the building. That is not the case at all. We, as believers, are the church. We need to be the church no matter where we go. The song goes...

Bring your heartache
Bring your burden
You can lay them down at the door
There is no fear
You belong here
Step into the house of the Lord

When we allow God in our life, we are stepping into Him. As we allow Him to take our heartaches we will receive His peace that is unlike any other. The 'tough' days of life are there for a reason. They are not there to give us grief but instead are there to stretch our faith. I am so thankful for each and every heartache that comes my way because I learn from them. I am thankful for the way God uses such times to open my eyes to new insights. He took me to the last chapter of Hebrews this morning to ponder upon. There is a prayer in verses twenty and twenty-one that was written for all. It speaks of God's peace being for everyone who accepts it. Matthew Henry describes Him as "the Author of spiritual peace..." He continues to write, "There is no good thing wrought in us, but it is the work of God. And no good thing is wrought in us by God, but through Christ, for his sake and by his Spirit." These verses reiterate the fact the more we strive to live for in His will the more we will put a smile on His face. That is exactly what I desire to do in my life. Yesterday was full of smiles with having our family picnic. Getting to see many, reminiscing of days gone by, getting hugs and love, etc. are blessings. God blessings us in abundance with such times to fill up our emotional tank for 'tough' days ahead. He gives us such times to ponder upon in times of loneliness. He is there for us with open arms at all time.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for such a fun-filled day yesterday with seeing some I only see once a year! Thank You for the love I received especially from my grand babies that were there! Thank You for my visits with Melanie and Marlene! Thank You for bringing this song and Scripture before me! Cleanse me so You can fill me to overflowing with more of You. May You be glorified through my words, actions, attitude, and thoughts. May the opportunities You give me today to love with Your love be embraced. I pray for safe travels back home and strength for the week ahead. I pray Your peace over: My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Rick; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. I also pray healing prayers over many who are dealing with 'c' and/or going through treatments...Sharon's daughter Ashley; Chrissy's cousins; Shirley Jones; Preacher Bill Watts; Cait's friend with leukemia; my pastor friend with daily chemo; my friend with mesothelioma; Little Ivy; Little Judson; Alex's niece; a young girl in our community; a lady whose breast cancer has returned; and a lady diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. I pray for: the Long Family, Vickie and her son Jim, Clay's cousin who was in a motorcycle accident, and Russ. Thank You for continued strength for Baby Henry! I also pray protection over Donna's grandmother and others evacuated in Kentucky floods. Thank You for being My Author of Spiritual Peace! Amen.

Psalm 37:3-6; Phil 4:13; Exodus 14:14;II Timothy 1:7 - "Love Life"

There is a song Jason Gray sings called "Love Life" that has so much truth in it. I remember soon after I was diagnosed with MS I presented a talk at various women's groups called 'When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade.' It was about how God is there for you no matter what and He desires to see you succeed in life. His strength is there to get you through the 'tough' days' and His love is available at all time. A friend asked me yesterday how I was doing. I told them I am happy and enjoying life. I also told them I feel guilty at times for the way I feel. I know God is with me and I also know just because of what 2020 and 2021 brought my way He desires me to live in His love. There is a part of this song that goes:

So pour your love into your life
Just like it was holy ground
You will see a world of wonder
That was always waiting to be found

I desire to allow God to work in and through me. He is the best at being with me, guiding me, showing me what He desires of me, etc. The more i live in obedience to walking in His will the more I desire to do so. He constantly reminds me of all Paul went through in life yet he remained joyful. He was in prison yet he praised God. He faced death many times yet his faith did not waiver. There were many times in his life where I am sure he felt like life gave him lemons yet he never gave up. He encouraged people to love God and allow His love to flow from them. I desire to be like Paul. No matter what happens in my life I desire to serve God. Yesterday when I got caught in a downpour while walking to the library I could have been mad but I wasn't. I could have blamed myself for not checking the weather but I didn't. Instead I got under an awning and watched the world go by. As I sat there I thought of times in my teen years when I walked that same street. I thought about different people who were in my life and what a blessing my childhood was to me. Yes there were plenty of lemons thrown into my life but every time they were given God was right there to help me turn them into lemonade. I am reminded of the words in Psalm 37:3-6. They remind me to continue to trust God and allow Him to work in and through me. There is a part that encourages all to fix your heart on the promises of God. I have been reminded this week of His promises in my life and the way He continually fulfills them. When I was going through the MS diagnosis, He gave me Philippians 4:13 which promises strength. When Doc was battling the pancreatic cancer, He gave me II Timothy 1:7 which promises of empowerment over fear. Throughout many times in life He gave me Exodus 14:14 which promises me He is there to fight every battle that comes my way. All I have to do to receive these promises is to stand upon Proverbs 3:5-6. Scripture is key in my life. Reading, studying, and memorizing it is key but the most important aspect of Scripture is to live it out each and every day.

Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the blessings of yesterday and the ones ahead today! Thank You for the privilege to take Momma up to the cemetery! Thank You for getting to see: Pam, June, Glenda, and Janice! Thank You for getting my 'Rickey hugs' and having a meal with Anna, Michael, Matt, Joy, and their families! Thank You for the memories of my childhood! Lord, I pray for a cleansing in my spirit so I can be who You desire me to me. I pray for empowerment to stand upon Your Word so I can do Your will. May I not miss any opportunity You give me in the day ahead. I pray for safety for those traveling for our gathering today and for Your strength for many going through 'tough' days. My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Rick; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. Thank You for being My Life Giver! Amen.

Exodus 14:14 - "I'll Find You"

Life can be tough but my God i tougher. There can be all kinds of things that come before us but nothing is too big for my God. I look around and see so many people hurting. Some physically with disease, hurts from accidents, etc. Some mentally/emotionally from broken relationships, being put down time after time, loss of a loved one, etc. Some financially from making bad decisions, loss of a job, etc. The ones that hurt my heart the most are those hurting spiritually. Some don't even realize they are lacking spiritually because they have never been told about God or experienced Him. Some know Him yet have walked away. My heart is heavy for those who are choosing to not allow God to be their King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I don't understand how the human mind works but I do know there are many who are caught up in the antics of satan because they are confused. My God does not cause confusion. He provides peace. Even in the midst of the trials of life His peace is available to all who will accept it. I woke up with a song Lecrae sings called "I'll Find You" on my mind.

Just fight a little longer, my friend
It's all worth it in the end
But when you got nobody to turn to
Just hold on, and I'll find you
I'll find you

God is there for us at atl time. He desires to love us through tough situations so our faith will grow stronger. He never walks away from us even when we make the choice to walk from Him. There are times He gives us 'tough' days to stretch our faith. Many times people think bad times come from the enemy but that is not always true. God desires us to draw closer to Him. When life is 'good' and everything is going well, we tend to think we no longer need God. We always need Him and just need to realize that.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for loving me so greatly! Thank You for a friend who talked me out of being crabby when my flight was delayed yesterday! Thank You for safe travels! Thank You for going before me when the 'tough' days of life hit and showing me what You desire of me! Cleanse me so You can fill me to overflowing with more of You. May You be so close to many going through 'tough' days. My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Rick; Simone; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. Thank You for being The One Who Fights For Me! Amen.

Hebrews 10:36; 12:1-3 - "My God Is Still The Same"

I so enjoy our Wednesday night Adult Bible Study. It is full of insight, time with friends, laughter, etc. Last night we were in Hebrews 10. Verse thirty-six is a treasure for me. This particular section is about perseverance with this verse encouraging us to persevere while we walk in the will of God. When we do, we will receive what He has promised. His ultimate promise is that of eternal life with Him. Throughout life God gives us promises while on the mountains and in the valleys. He promises us protection in Psalm 91. He promises us empowerment over fear in II Timothy 1:7. He promises to never leave us in Hebrews 13:5. He promises to fight the battles before us in Exodus 14:14. He promises to provide His strength for us in Philippians 4:13. He promises to fill us with joy in James 1:2-4. I shared last night how God gives us promises as a corporate body of believers but He also gives us personal promises. He has continued to promise me all these things over the last two years. Protection, to never leave me, empowerment, Him to fight the battles before me, joy in my spirit, and His strength. These promises have been very personal to me on this road of widowhood. I have embraced them over and over again. Last night after church I met a new friend who showed me his critters. He has a mini farm with dogs, bunnies, chickens, and quail. He is a retired Marine with health issues who is very proud of his life. As we walked around his backyard looking at everything I was thinking about how much of a blessing the time of meeting him was to me. I thought about how I could have missed out on the experience so easily because of being too busy or too tired or whatever excuse that came out. Instead I enjoyed an hour of watching this man share his life with me. Eating my first kumquat would have been missed. Enjoying two fresh figs off the tree would have been missed. Allowing someone into my life as they shared their life would have been missed. I prayed during that hour that I would sow seeds for Jesus with him and his wife. God was keeping His promises to me last night. It was another time of restoration of joy in me. Laughing is soothing for my soul and is something God is providing frequently as I allow Him. His love is lavished down upon me as I continue to walk in obedience to the will of God. I woke up with a song Sanctus Real sings called "My God Is Still The Same" and was so blessed.

When did He break His promise?
When did His kindness fail?
Never has, never will
My God is still the same
When did He lose His power?
When did His mercy change?
Never has, never will
My God is still the same, yeah
My God is still the same

He never breaks His promises and for that I am grateful. We may stray from His will but He never gives up on us. Woo hoo! We must stay focused on Him throughout this life on earth so we can spend eternity with Him. I love the words of Hebrews 12:1-3...

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Run with perseverance...fixing our eyes on Jesus. When we do this we will not grow weary and lose heart. This is the way to live. It is way I strive to live every day and pray for others to do the same.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for the blessings of yesterday and the ones ahead today! Thank You for a great Bible study last night and then the time of meeting Andy's father! Lord, You are so good to keep Your promises! I am one blessed lady and desire to embrace each and every one found in Your Word. Cleanse me so You can fill me to overflowing with more of You. May You ooze out of my words, actions, attitude, and thoughts in a mighty way. I pray protection over my day of travel but most of all I pray for opportunities to show Your love to all I meet. I pray for perseverance for those going through 'tough' times. Thank You for being with Clay and Andy during procedures yesterday. Thank You for being My Promise Keeper! Amen.

Isaiah 54:10 "Heart of God"

This morning God has me pondering on how I can be more intentional to love people who are not in relationship with Him. How can I share His love with those who may not want anything to do with Him? How can I show them what they are missing in life? Sometimes it doesn't take words at all but instead just living out a life for Him. As people see me living through turmoil with peace they will question how that is possible. When people see a smile on my face even in the midst of troubles, they will want what I have. It may not happened over night but I need to be more intentional in being a living example of Christ on this earth. Not in the sense that I am perfect or can do everything for them but in the sense that I can love with unconditional love. I can listen with judgement and give sound advice that comes from God. I am reminded this morning of a song Zach Williams sings called "Heart of God."

I know you're hurting
I can see it in your eyes
So, pull back the curtain
And take off your disguise
Whoever told you
Ain't worth the fight
The cross tells a story
That'll change your mind

There are so many people hurting that need the love of God poured down over them. We, as believers, have the supernatural ability to do so as we allow God to work in and through us. God desires us to love on people with a kind of love they can only experience from Him. I was reading about what Zach Williams said when they were writing this song. “When I think about who Jesus is, the first thing that comes to my mind is love,” the singer offers. “Love is the true identity of who He is. It doesn’t matter where you’ve been; it doesn’t matter what you’ve done or what you’re going through in your life. God loves you. He’s going to give you another chance. He’s going to keep fighting for you. And for me, that’s the true heart of God.” Those are some powerful words to ponder upon. He loves us with His whole heart. I was sharing something yesterday about how His love is greater than anything the enemy puts before us. I am thankful for that knowledge. I also am thankful for His love that is with me on the mountains and in the valleys of life. This picture I took yesterday on a walk shows the reflection of the clouds in the lake. It reminds me that I need to be a reflection of God each and every day.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for the blessings of yesterday and the ones ahead today! Thank You for providing birthday money to shop for some new clothes! Thank You for Marion having a 'good' day and for Your words in Isaiah 54:10 that remind me of Your love! Cleanse me so You can fill me. I want to be who You desire me to be and can only do so when You empower me. I pray Your peace over: My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Rick; Simone; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. I pray for all medical personnel to have Your wisdom with Clay and Andy's procedures today. Thank You for being My Loving Father! Amen.

Zephaniah 3:17 - "Drops In The Ocean"

Yesterday as I was playing in the ocean I looked out at the light house and felt so close to God. He created the beach for my enjoyment. When I was a little girl, I dreamed of going to the beach and collecting seashells. I was always sad in grade school on the first day back after summer break. The teachers always asked us to write about where we went/what we did for vacation. Living on a farm made for no such things. I remember one year asking if I could write about my dream vacation. I wish I would have kept that paper. I was sharing with a friend the other day I feel like I am living my dream vacation with being close enough to the beach to enjoy it whenever I desire. It doesn't matter if I only stay long enough to go for a walk or go sit for just a few minutes. I love being in nature but I especially enjoy being at the beach. Yesterday was in the mid to high nineties but it was perfect to be playing in the water, sitting on the beach reading, finding seashells for a craft project, etc. It was perfect because I could feel God so close to me. While in the water the song "Drops In The Ocean" came to my mind...

If you wanna know
How far my love can go
Just how deep, just how wide
If you wanna see
How much you mean to me
Look at my hands, look at my side
If you could count the times I'd say you are forgiven
It's more than the drops in the ocean

God's love is more vast than the eye can see. His love is one no one else can lavish on us. He loves us so much He created things in nature for us to enjoy. His love is one that is unconditional and so forgiving. I am grateful for the ways He forgives and forgets. I am grateful for the way He encourages me especially on the 'tough' days of life. I am grateful I feel His love at all time. Plain and simple. I am grateful. Yesterday was another first in my life. It was my first birthday without a significant other. God blessed me through it. He loved on me through people's calls, texts, and time with Cait and the kids at the beach. I am so thankful for Who He is in my life and for the privilege to be chosen by Him to love others with His love. Praise His Holy Name! The book of Zephaniah is about the cycle of life. There comes a time in life where one has to make the choice of doing good or evil. I am thankful for the spiritual grounding I had growing up and for the way God never left me when I walked away as a young adult. His love never stopped being poured out over me. In Zephaniah 3 we read of the cleansing power of God. One commentator described a time after God's cleansing as 'exhilarating confidence and assurance' to be had by all who allow Him to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords of their life. Yes! I have confidence in Him and am assured of His love every day. I am one blessed lady!

Dear Jesus, Thank You for the blessings of yesterday and the ones ahead today! Thank You for all who sent texts or cards and called to celebrate my birthday! Thank You for Your love that You lavish on me so much! Cleanse me so You can fill me to overflowing with more of You. May You ooze out of my words, actions, attitude, and thoughts in a mighty way. I pray Your peace over: My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Simone; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. I pray continued healing for Kim, Rick, and Pastor Ted as they recuperate from surgeries. I also pray protection over Donna's grandmother and others evacuated in Kentucky floods. Thank You for being My Mighty Warrior! Amen.

Jeremiah 33:3 - "Good Lord"

Woo hoo! Today is the day to celebrate God putting me on this earth! Doc always said I was one of the few people he knew who stretched out a birthday from one day to a whole month. I started Saturday celebrating and will continue as long as I can. I am thankful for the life God gave me. There are some who think I am crazy in saying that with all the grief and pain that has been a part of my sixty-one years of life. The only reason I can is because of God's love. He loves me so much that He gave His Only Son to die and come back to life for me. His love is showered upon me every day as He gives me His wisdom, peace, and joy. As I reflect on the past year it once again had a great loss with my Rickey dying. It was a year of hurts and disappointments but it was also a year of joy. It was a year where dreams came into reality and God showed Himself in abundance. In June He gave me Jeremiah 33:3 which gives me great anticipation for what is ahead. I am excited to be living as His daughter and strive to walk in His will every day of my life. This morning He woke me with the song "Good Lord" and once again blessed me in abundance.

I may not know what tomorrow holds
But I know one thing for sure
Good Lord, I got a good Lord
Every day, every step of the way it's You who opened the door
Good Lord, I got a good Lord

Yes! He continues to open doors for me in my church life and in my personal life. He continues to direct me as I allow Him. I am so grateful for the way He speaks to me through songs, Scripture, other people, His nature, etc. Once again last night as I watched the sun set I thought of how He was with me every moment of the day and was going to be with me in the days to come. I was able to share the sun set last night with my 'church Annabelle' who was with me for a sleepover to celebrate our birthdays. She loves the fact that we share a birthday and I love celebrating her. God blesses me in abundance with my church family. Being far away from my family is hard especially on special days like today. I am grateful for each and every person who loves on me. I also am grateful for the way my 'Good Lord' cares for me. I may not know what tomorrow holds is so true but I do not fear anything that is ahead because He is with me. His love, mercy, and grace are key to my life. I know what is on the calendar for the next year but I do not know everything and that is ok. God does and that is all that matters. The more I allow Him to be my King of Kings and Lord of Lords the more I will be empowered to be the godly woman He desires me to be.

Dear Jesus,
Thank You for today and for the opportunity to celebrate with my 'church Annabelle'! Thank You for my church family who love on me well! Thank You for another day of life which I have before me to be who You have called me to be! I pray for opportunities to love with Your love and for people to be responsive to Your love. Cleanse me so You can fill me to overflowing with more of You. May You ooze out of my words, actions, attitude, and thoughts in a mighty way today. I continue to pray for those who are going through tough days to receive Your peace. My Momma; my sisters Linda, Sally, and Mary; my brother Richard; Ben and Colleen; Pete and Delores; Steve; Cait; Beth; Nancy; Mike; Norma Hall; Sharon Sebolt and her parents; some young ladies with anxiety; a young man out of rehab who needs strength in his daily walk; Rhonda; Mary Lilley; a husband/father separated from his wife; Brooklyn; Kristen Batten; Amber; families in turmoil; Gay and Doug; Simone; Cyndi; Serenna and her husband; and many others. I pray continued healing for Kim, Rick, Pastor Ted, Cindy, and Justin Hillman as they recuperate from surgeries. I also pray protection over Donna's grandmother and others evacuated in Kentucky floods. Thank You for being My Good Lord! Amen.
