Philippians 4:4-9 - "Today Is The Day"

This is the song I woke up to this morning. Right away I thought there must be someone I need to pray for that has been worrying. Then I read a text and realized I was the one who needed reminded that I don't have to worry about anything. God is in control and I trust Him to be in all situations. I trust Him with our family, our finances, our health...everything.

And I won't worry about tomorrow
I'm giving You my fears and sorrows
Where You lead me I will follow
I'm trusting in what You say
Today is the day


There is freedom in trusting the Lord. There is freedom in not fretting over everything that happens in life. There is freedom in knowing He is in control. I don't have any reason to sit and fret over the 'what ifs' in life. When I say 'it is what it is,' I say it knowing that whatever the Lord's will is it will be because that is how I live my life. I stand on the words of Paul in Philippians 4:4-9...

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.And the God of peace will be with you.
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for being who You are in my life. Thank You for the peace that I have even in turmoil. Thank You for being in situations even when I can't be. Thank You for the way You remind me of this peace just at the moment I could fall apart as I wait on a return phone call. Thank You for enabling me to stand upon Your Word. Lord, fill me to overflowing with more of You. Use me to be a beacon of light wherever I am. Father, You are just so awesome...thank You for Your love, mercy and grace. Thank You for being My Peace. Amen.
