Isaiah 42:1-9 - Muddy Waters

Wow, Lord!  What an exciting night You and I had!  You woke me up several times to pray.  Once for Life Flight.  Once for Doc's sermon preparation. Once for me to pray about something You were going to have me do.  You told me, "you need to pray to be prepared and ready for what I will have you do." But the time that was the most exciting was when You said, "You will walk through muddy waters.  Have no fear, Daughter, for I am with You."  I didn't understand what that meant and I prayed for clarification.  After falling back to sleep You gave me a dream where I literally walked through muddy waters.  It was the most beautiful place I've ever seen.  There were mountains where I was hiking with a group of people.  Then we came to this large body of water that was so muddy.  It looked like chocolate milk....lol.  We had to cross in order to get to dry land but we didn't know how deep it was.  We started out walking and then it became deeper so we had to swim.  But after a while we were to the other side where the dry land was.  Then this huge lion creature was pouncing around but people weren't afraid of it.  Your words kept coming back to me.  "Have no fear, Daughter, for I am with You."

I had to get up and write about what I was given.  I still don't understand it. I looked to see if "muddy waters" was in the Bible but the only thing I found was that the Jordan River was muddy.  I read about Naaman's story of being healed in the muddy water.  When I think of "muddy waters" I think of something that is unclear.

Then Lord, You took me to Isaiah 42:1-9....

Isaiah 42:1-9

New International Version (NIV)

The Servant of the Lord

42 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
    my chosen one in whom I delight;
I will put my Spirit on him,
    and he will bring justice to the nations.
He will not shout or cry out,
    or raise his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
    and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.
In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
    he will not falter or be discouraged
till he establishes justice on earth.
    In his teaching the islands will put their hope.”
This is what God the Lord says—
the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out,
    who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it,
    who gives breath to its people,
    and life to those who walk on it:
“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
    I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
    to be a covenant for the people
    and a light for the Gentiles,
to open eyes that are blind,
    to free captives from prison
    and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
“I am the Lord; that is my name!
    I will not yield my glory to another
    or my praise to idols.
See, the former things have taken place,
    and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
    I announce them to you.”

Lord, I thank You for a night of prayer.  I thank You that not only was I in intercessory prayer but You also gave me something for me to ponder.  Lord, draw me closer to You and in Your time reveal to me what my "muddy waters" are.  Father, I am Your servant and I will do whatever You ask of me.  Thank You, Lord for giving me Isaiah 42:1-9 this morning to read.  Verse 9 speaks to me in a great way.  "See, the former things have taken place and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”  Whatever the muddy waters represent...whatever the "new things" represent...I am Your servant and ready to do as You so desire. Thank You Father for being My Director!  Amen.
