1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
He is my refuge
He is my protector
He is my shield
He is my salvation
This is why I can "do" today. This is why I can be whatever He desires of me. This is why I know I can do anything. It is ironic. I grew up thinking I could do anything I set my mind to do because of an earthly Daddy instilling that mindset in me. Now, as I go deeper in my relationship with the Lord, I realize it is not on my strength or power that I do what I do. It is on His strength and power. Woo hoo! I get so blessed to think about that!
I remember being teased when I was working multiple jobs, juggling the boys school and sports activities, Doc's work and school schedule, my ministries along with whatever came my way. People said I must think I have an "S" on my chest for being Super Woman. Obviously, I wasn't Super Woman but I do have the supernatural powers from the Lord to accomplish His will.
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for the reminder of these words today. Thank You for being my rest, my refuge, my protection, my shield....the list goes on and on. Thank You for loving me so much! Thank You for using me to do Your will. Most importantly thank You for Your supernatural power that You strengthen me with in order to do Your will. Father, bless my steps and my words today. Fill me to overflowing with more of You and less of me. Lord, be with the family who are burying their loved one today. I also ask that You stay close to the family who are watching their loved one take his last breaths. Bring comfort to all. Thank You Jesus for being My Everything! Amen.
