So many times we wonder why we get attacked by the enemy when we draw closer to the Lord. It's plain and simple. The enemy doesn't like when we seek the Lord deeper. He would rather keep us distracted with his ways. We must continue the fight.
We also need to remember that the Lord puts things in our path to see how we will react to them. Will we give the enemy glory and give up? Or will we dig out heels in deeper and seek Him more? We are the only one who can answer those questions during tough times. I do know when tough times are part of life I have learned to draw closer to the Lord and am blessed in a mighty way by it.
No matter what is causing our challenges we must live each and every day ready for battle. Ephesians 6 gives us clear direction. Verses ten through twenty read…
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Woo hoo! Yes! I will take on the full armor of God and I will claim victory in all the battles that come before me. I do not have to do anything on my own strength but rather will stand on Philippians 4:13….Sheila can do all things through Christ who gives her strength. When challenges come, I will not be destroyed as I am told in II Corinthians 4:9-9…Sheila is hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; Sheila is perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. Woo hoo! "Trading My Sorrows" is on my lips as I sing for joy this morning for victories of yesterday, ones of today and ones that will occur tomorrow! How can I claim victory? Plain and simple. I am wearing the full armor of God.
Dear Jesus,
I pray for those who are struggling with challenges. Lord, no matter if they are from the enemy or from You, would You please give them victory? Would you please open their eyes to wearing the full armor of God? Would You please open doors in their lives that need opened and shut doors that need shut? Father, I praise You for opening my eyes to victory! Thank You Jesus for being My Victory! Amen.
